Dogs come in nearly every shape and size you can imagine. If you can, you need to measure the size of bed that your dog has now so that you can work out how much space they need. You also need to look at the way they sleep now. Do they tend to curl up in a ball? Or do you have a giant dog who likes to stretch out as much as possible? The easiest dog bed for you to create would be for you to use a huge pillow. You can do this by simply taking two rectangle sizes of fabric before sewing them together on the three sides. You then need to take a few fleece blankets so that you can then give them somewhere comfortable to go. Choose a type of stuffing that will make them feel safe and comfortable next, and before you know it, you will have something amazing for them.

Stuffing Options

You do want your dog’s bed to look great, but at the same time, you also want it to be comfortable for them. The filling you decide to go with is super important. You do have a lot of choices here, but at the end of the day, joint mobility and even support are important options. You need to look out for any naughty or self-soothing tendencies that they have too. This could include chewing or even digging. If you can do this then you will soon find that you can avoid them destroying the bed you have made. If you want to make yourself something comfy while you’re at it, then Woof Blankets are a great starting point.

Filling Choices

If you are not quite sure which filling you should be going with then fibre fill is a great option. The issue with  this is that it impacts over time and it doesn’t wash too well either, so you have to keep this in mind. Memory foam is a brilliant option and it is most suited to dogs who experience things such as arthritis. If you have a thin or bony dog then they may need something a bit thicker to support them though, and this is where polystyrene beads or even fluff stuffing comes in. If you go for any of these options then you should find that your dog has somewhere nice and comfortable to relax. You also know that you can keep the bed nice and clean by making sure that your fabric can be washed. This is the best way to ensure that your bed looks great over time and it stops it from getting too dirty if you have a dog who loves to roll in mud, so keep this in mind if you can. It’ll make it easier for you to keep clean around the home too.
