Is a career in music next for Johnny O'Connell?

Throughout his career, Johnny O'Connell has been on the biggest stages in motorsports (Le Mans, Sebring, Petit Le Mans) but after Sunday night, Feb. 5th, he can now claim being part of pop-culture. The two-time American Le Mans Series champion and Corvette Racing mainstay was part of GM's first-quarter commercial during Sunday's Super Bowl XLI.

O'Connell was part of a cast of characters singing in an ad titled "Ain't We Got Love" as his Corvette C6.R is being lowered from a Corvette Racing transporter.

Acura also had a spot in the second quarter titled "Dreamer" that featured the unveiling of the company's blue and silver display car from last year's New York Auto Show. That was the site of Acura's American Le Mans Series LMP2 factory program announcement.

Johnny O'Connell has also just been named the #3 Corvette C6R's #1 driver for 2007.... hmmm... maybe the TV exposure is doing him some good after all.... :) We will keep you posted!!!
